Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that Adnan Januzaj has a "second chance" to prove his ability after returning to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund.
On Thursday, United confirmed that Januzaj's loan spell in Germany had been cut short on their request.
The 20-year-old, who agreed to join Dortmund in the summer for the entire 2015-16 campaign, did not start a single league game during his time there.
When asked about Januzaj's return in Friday's press conference, Van Gaal told reporters: "It's more or less the same as we have done with Will Keane, for example. They are coming to us to ask for a second chance, and Manchester United is a club who takes care of all their players.
"I think it's a very good habit to do that and I believe in the talent of Adnan Januzaj, I have said that also, and I have said already that it would be difficult for him to play matches at Dortmund. Unfortunately I was right.
"When he doesn't play there too much, he can train better with us and maybe he can play in the first team."
Januzaj joined United's youth team from Anderlecht in 2011 and made his senior debut two years later.
