Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal laments his side's wasted opportunities as they are held to a 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has lamented his side's missed chances as they were held to a goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Reds put in an impressive first-half display at White Hart Lane, but were thwarted by the heroics of Hugo Lloris.

"You need a little fortune, because Tottenham could also score in the second half," said the Dutch coach, according to FourFourTwo.

"When you play against a top-six club at White Hart Lane and you create six to eight chances, and open chances, then you have to finish that. But you don't reward yourself, then normally the opponent win.

"You could see in the second half it was not football anymore, it was a struggle for life. Tottenham won the second balls and that's why they were more dominating than Manchester in the second half. They create three chances, but we also created three chances; [Juan] Mata, [Robin] Van Persie and [Radamel] Falcao."

United remain unbeaten in eight games following the draw and sit in third position in the table.
