Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that his side lacked creativity in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Juan Mata opened the scoring for the away side in the Premier League clash, but a Jack Rodwell header was enough to secure a point for the Black Cats.
"We lacked creative passes in the final third and missed passes too often – it was either too slow or too hasty," Van Gaal told Sky Sports News.
"We conceded too many set-pieces and they scored from one, which was disappointing. In the second half we were better."
United's next Premier League match is away to Burnley next weekend.
