Netherlands head coach Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Robin van Persie is not fit enough to feature in tomorrow night's friendly against Mexico.
The Manchester United striker linked up with his international teammates yesterday, but he was unable to take a full part in today's training session.
Although the injury is not thought to be overly serious, it is expected to keep him out of the encounter in Amsterdam.
"Van Persie is not quite fit. He trained today, but he did not fully participate. I don't think he will be used against Mexico," Hiddink told reporters.
Speculation has suggested that the Dutch skipper could recover in time to feature in Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Latvia.
