Manchester United will look to avoid suffering their worst month in 62 years when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Monday.
The Red Devils have experienced three disappointing results since they staged a late turnaround to beat rivals Manchester City on December 15.
Ruben Amorim's charges fell to a 4-3 defeat in their EFL Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur, before they slumped to a heavy 3-0 loss in their Premier League home meeting with Bournemouth.
They were then beaten 2-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day, with Bruno Fernandes receiving his marching orders before Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan grabbed a goal apiece.
As a result of that defeat, the Red Devils finished Boxing Day in 14th place in the Premier League table with just 22 points to their name after 18 matches.
Man United looking to avoid worst month in 62 years
Amorim's side will be keen to put December behind them, having lost four of their six Premier League matches (W2) this month.
No Premier League has lost more games this month, while only Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich Town and Southampton have joined them with four defeats.
After experiencing a poor run of results, Man United are one defeat away from experiencing their worst month since losing five matches in September 1962.
With Man United desperate to avoid defeat, they can take comfort from the fact Newcastle have not won their final league games in any of the last seven years (D5, L2).
Man United's recent home struggles
The Red Devils have struggled in their last two outings at Old Trafford, failing to take anything from their home games against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
Those results leave them vulnerable to losing three consecutive home league matches for the first time since February 1979.
However, they have proven to be a tough team to beat in home games against Newcastle, having lost just one of their previous 39 head-to-head league meetings at Old Trafford (W28, D10).
They recorded a 3-2 home victory when the two sides last faced off in May, courtesy of goals from Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund.
That result represented their seventh victory in eight home meetings with the Magpies (D1), with Man United scoring at least three goals in each of those seven wins. body check tags ::
