Ed Woodward has officially stepped down as executive vice-chairman of Manchester United, after nine years in the role.

Following the European Super League fiasco, the 50-year-old announced that he would be leaving his post in the future.

Last month, the Red Devils confirmed that Woodward would leave the club on February 1, with Richard Arnold officially filling the vacant position and becoming their CEO.

Speaking about his new role, Arnold said: "I am honoured to have the chance to serve this great club and its fans. I am determined to return that honour in any way I can."

Woodward joined United's boardroom team in 2005 and advised the Glazer family during their successful takeover of the club.

He then replaced David Gill in the summer of 2013 as executive vice-chairman, which coincided with the retirement of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Woodward will officially leave Man United in April 2022. body check tags ::
