Manchester United winger Ashley Young has praised Robin van Persie for his match-winning contribution away at Southampton on Monday night.
The Dutch international's form had been called into question over recent weeks, but he responded by scoring both of United's goals in the 2-1 victory on the South Coast.
"They were brilliant finishes from Robin. I think the first one was obviously a gift but he still had to finish it off," Young told the club's official website.
"The second was one of those poacher's goals where he has worked on going around the back post and getting on the end of Wazza (Wayne Rooney)'s free kicks. He managed to do that and we're just delighted to get the three points to take us into the next game."
Van Persie's brace took his tally for the campaign to six goals.
