The top-four hopes of Leicester City and Chelsea were boosted during gameweek 33 of the Premier League season as the chasing pack dropped points in the Champions League race.

Chelsea overcame West Ham United in a London derby to move three points clear of the Hammers in fourth, and Leicester rounded off the gameweek with a come-from-behind victory over Crystal Palace.

Liverpool had earlier missed the chance to climb into the top four themselves as they conceded a last-gasp equaliser against Newcastle United at Anfield, edging the Magpies nine points clear of danger in the process.

The weekend's standout league fixture was something of an anticlimax as Leeds United and Manchester United played out an error-strewn 0-0 draw, while the spoils were also shared in the West Midlands derby between Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion.

Arguably the standout performance of the weekend came from Burnley, who thrashed Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 at Molineux, while Everton also picked up a notable away win at Arsenal to end their Emirates Stadium hoodoo.

Already-relegated Sheffield United also picked up a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion to leave the Seagulls still seven points clear of the drop.

Here, Sports Mole selects its Premier League team of the week for gameweek 33.

Newcastle once again struck late to pick up a valuable point in their relegation battle at Anfield, but the game could well have been out of sight a long time before their stoppage-time equaliser had it not been for Martin Dubravka.

The Magpies shot-stopper almost single-handedly kept his side in the game during the first half in particular, ending the game with eight saves to his name to beat Sam Johnstone to the gloves in this week's team.

Two Leicester defenders join Dubravka in the back five, with Timothy Castagne and Jonny Evans both playing big roles at both ends of the field.

Castagne netted the Foxes' equaliser in thunderous fashion, while Evans assisted the winner in addition to producing a goal-saving last-ditch challenge which ultimately proved to be as good as a goal.

Matthew Lowton, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ben Godfrey, Antonio Rudiger and Ben Mee all deserve honourable mentions, but Evans is partnered at the heart of the defence by James Tarkowski, who helped the Clarets to their dominant win at Molineux.

Another Burnley defender - Charlie Taylor - was also in contention on the left, but he is pipped to the final spot in our defence by Ben Chilwell, who kept a clean sheet and assisted the only goal of the game in Chelsea's crucial win over West Ham.

Two more Burnley players make the cut in midfield too as a reward for their stunning display against Wolves, with Dwight McNeil having provided the assists for two of their four goals and Ashley Westwood capping off the rout with a crisp strike from the edge of the box.

Leeds' game against Manchester United was an entirely more forgettable affair, but one man who did enhance his reputation was Kalvin Phillips as he marked the dangerous Bruno Fernandes out of the game at Elland Road.

West Brom's survival hopes took a potentially fatal blow with the late goal they conceded against Aston Villa in the derby, but the fact that they still have any glimmer of hope is largely down to Matheus Pereira's form in recent weeks.

The winger was once again a standout performer against Villa, scoring once to level things up from the spot and hitting the woodwork.

The most outstanding individual display this weekend undoubtedly came from Chris Wood, who netted a first-half hat-trick in Burnley's rout of Wolves and then added an assist in the second half for good measure.

Arguably the league's most in-form player right now is Kelechi Iheanacho, who added another goal and assist to his growing tally to turn things around for Leicester against Palace, hammering a rocket home to clinch all three points for the Champions League-chasing Foxes. body check tags ::
