Erik ten Hag will reportedly remain as Manchester United head coach until at least the end of the season, with the Dutchman's recent work at the helm impressing the club's minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

There remains widespread speculation surrounding Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford, with Ratcliffe and his team said to be considering bringing in a new manager as part of the widespread changes at the club.

However, according to The Guardian, Ten Hag is not in any immediate danger of losing is job, with the 54-year-old set to remain in his role until at least the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The report claims that Ratcliffe has been impressed with the ex-Ajax head coach, who guided the Red Devils to a 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last weekend.

Man United will take on Coventry City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup next month, while the team are also locked in a battle in the Premier League to secure Champions League football for next season.

Fifth position is expected to bring a Champions League spot for the 2024-25 campaign, and Man United are currently sixth in the table, six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-time English champions have suffered 11 Premier League defeats this season, while they finished bottom of their Champions League section.

Man United's form in 2024 has been strong, though, winning nine, drawing one and losing two of their 12 matches since the turn of the year.

The Red Devils will be back in action against Brentford after the international break, before taking on Chelsea and Liverpool in huge back-to-back fixtures.

England boss Gareth Southgate is currently being heavily linked with the managerial role at Old Trafford, but it is believed that he is just one of a number of names on the shortlist.

Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel have also been mentioned as candidates, with the former out of work since leaving Chelsea last April, while the latter will depart Bayern Munich this summer.

Ten Hag has a record of 62 wins, 12 draws and 28 defeats from his 102 matches in charge of Man United, and he led the club to silverware last season, securing the EFL Cup.

The Red Devils are bidding to make successive FA Cup finals under the Dutchman, while securing Champions League football for next season would be considered a huge success considering the team's problems this term.

Ten Hag is believed to be involved in the discussions when it comes to the summer transfer window, meanwhile, suggesting that Ratcliffe could keep the Dutchman in place for next season. body check tags ::
