Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag will reportedly sit down with senior figures at the club to discuss his future once the 2023-24 campaign has concluded.

The Red Devils struggled in the first half of the season, which led to suggestions that Ten Hag would be relieved of his duties, but the Dutchman managed to resist the pressure to keep his job.

Ten Hag has overseen a huge improvement in 2024, with the team still unbeaten this year, winning six of their seven matches in all competitions, including each of their last five.

Man United are suddenly firmly back in the race for a Champions League finish in the Premier League table, sitting sixth, three points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and five from Aston Villa in fourth.

The Red Devils are also chasing success in the FA Cup, with Nottingham Forest their opponents in the fifth round of the competition on February 28.

A Champions League finish, coupled with a trophy, would go down as a successful campaign for the club considering their issues in the first half of the season.

However, there remains uncertainty surrounding the future of Ten Hag, with the club's new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe believed to be considering making a change.

According to the Daily Star, the Man United head coach will sit down with senior figures at the club this summer to discuss his future at Old Trafford.

The report claims that there have not yet been any discussions to extend Ten Hag's contract, which is due to expire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Man United director Sir Dave Brailsford, new CEO Omar Berrada and incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth will allegedly be involved in the decision-making process alongside Ratcliffe.

The Red Devils suffered 14 defeats in all competitions in the first half of the season, including four in the Champions League, as they finished bottom of their section to exit the competition.

Ten Hag allegedly needs to secure Champions League football for next season to stand a chance of keeping his job, and the Red Devils will go in search of a fifth Premier League win in a row when they welcome Fulham to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

In Ten Hag's first season at the helm, Man United finished third in the Premier League and won the EFL Cup, in addition to reaching the final of the FA Cup and quarter-finals of the Europa League. body check tags ::
