Manchester United are reportedly becoming increasingly confident of being able to name Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers as their next head coach.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position at Old Trafford continues to be called into question amid the team's disappointing form, and Rodgers has seemingly been identified as the leading candidate for the role on a long-term basis.
Leicester will battle to keep hold of the Northern Irishman, but it is understood that there is a release clause in the 48-year-old's contract that can be activated if a Champions League club makes a move.
Here, Sports Mole picks out three Foxes players that Rodgers could attempt to bring with him to Manchester if he becomes the club's new head coach.
Caglar Soyuncu
Raphael Varane has impressed since arriving at Old Trafford from Real Madrid last summer, but the France international has had two separate injuries, including one that is set to keep him out until December, and Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have both found it difficult to impress this season.
It would certainly not be a surprise to see another central defender arrive in Manchester next year, and Caglar Soyuncu could be a genuine target for the 20-time English champions.
The 25-year-old has again been a vital player for the Foxes during the 2021-22 campaign, making 18 appearances in all competitions, while he enjoyed a strong 2020-21 season, featuring on 32 occasions, helping Leicester win the FA Cup in the process.
The Turkey international only has little over 18 months left to run on his contract at the King Power Stadium, though, and his head would surely be turned if Man United were to make an approach.
Wilfred Ndidi
Man United are desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park, and Wilfred Ndidi has developed into one of the leading central midfielders in the Premier League. The 24-year-old recently missed four league matches through injury but returned to play the full 90 minutes against Leeds United last weekend.
On a contract until June 2024, Ndidi's position at the King Power Stadium is relatively secure, but the Nigeria international might believe that this is the perfect time for him to make the step to an elite club.
For all of the success that Ndidi has enjoyed since arriving at Leicester from Genk in 2017, the Foxes have found it difficult to show consistency in the early stages of the 2021-22 campaign, currently sitting down in 12th position in the Premier League table.
Man United would surely have to pay a hefty fee to sign the Nigerian, but the club are in need of more quality in the middle of the park, and a move for the former Genk youngster at this time is certainly a possibility.
Youri Tielemans
Youri Tielemans's future remains the subject of much speculation, with the Belgium international believed to be considering leaving Leicester, and a number of clubs have been credited with an interest, including Man United.
The 24-year-old has been an excellent signing for Leicester, contributing 20 goals and 22 assists in 125 appearances in all competitions, and he was in brilliant form last season.
Man United are in need of a player to control the tempo of a match from the middle of the park, and Tielemans has proved that he can influence games at the highest level with his passing ability.
Tielemans scored an excellent goal against the 20-time English champions at the King Power Stadium in the middle of October, and he was also on the scoresheet in the win over Brentford eight days later.
Like Soyuncu, the midfielder's contract is due to expire in June 2023, meaning that Leicester will have a big decision to make unless they can convince him to sign a new deal at the club.
