Newcastle United are allegedly in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler.
The 28-year-old only extended his contract with the Ligue 1 champions until 2024 last year but has continued to struggle for regular starts at the Parc des Princes.
Draxler only registered two goals and two assists from 24 outings in all tournaments last term and featured from the first whistle on a mere five occasions in the French top flight amid his injury woes.
According to Le 10 Sport, Newcastle have now entered talks to sign Draxler this summer, but PSG could be prepared to demand as much as €30m (£25.4m) to sanction a sale.
Draxler was left out of Christophe Galtier's squad for PSG's pre-season tour of Japan and missed his side's final nine Ligue 1 games last season with a serious knee injury.
From one player leaving Ligue 1 to head to the UK comes a man who could make the opposite journey in Celtic centre-back Stephen Welsh.
The 22-year-old has been on the books at Parkhead since 2008 but made just 10 appearances in the 2021-22 Scottish Premiership season under Ange Postecoglou.
According to Sky Sports News, Toulouse - who have been promoted back to Ligue 1 for the 2022-23 season - have enquired about the possibility of signing Welsh.
However, the report adds that the Scotland Under-21 international is part of Postecoglou's first-team plans, and Celtic have no desire to sell him.
Udinese are said to have failed with a bid to sign Welsh in January, and the defender is under contract with the Bhoys until the summer of 2025.
Over in the English capital, West Ham United manager David Moyes is seemingly not content with just the one striker signing in the current transfer window.
The Hammers are on the verge of completing a deal for Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca, but another frontman from the Championship has supposedly caught the eye.
A report from The Sun claims that West Ham remain interested in a move for Blackburn Rovers' Ben Brereton Diaz, but they will face stiff competition for the Chile international.
After registering 22 goals and three assists in 37 Championship matches last term, Brereton Diaz is thought to also be admired by the likes of Leeds United, Bournemouth and Sevilla.
West Ham scouts were reportedly in attendance to watch Brereton Diaz in action against Lincoln City in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, and he is due to become a free agent in 2023.
Finally, Manchester United are expected to sanction a loan exit for teenage attacker Hannibal Mejbri, whose first-team opportunities will be limited next season.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has been singing the 19-year-old's praises in pre-season, but Man United will likely want him to gain more first-team experience elsewhere in the next 12 months.
According to Sky Sports News, West Bromwich Albion are the latest club to show an interest in signing Mejbri on a temporary basis, and a decision on his destination will be made next week.
Millwall, Birmingham City and Middlesbrough are also said to be interested in signing Mejbri, who featured twice in the Premier League for Man United last season.
The Tunisia international arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco as a 16-year-old in 2019, with the deal costing the Red Devils as much as £9m.
