Arda Turan's agent has claimed that Manchester United made a bid to sign his client during the summer.
The Turkey international opted to move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona in July, despite the Catalan club's transfer ban which means that he cannot make his official debut until next month.
However, Ahmet Bulut has revealed that the Red Devils were also in the running to sign the 28-year-old.
"Last season Manchester United made a bid for Arda but Atletico Madrid did not want him to leave. I was in talks with Barcelona but told nobody about it at the time," he told AMK.
It is believed that Barca paid Atletico around £27m to secure the midfielder's signature.
