Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly asked club officials to instigate discussions with the representatives of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Despite a solid campaign on loan at Bayern Munich, Coutinho will return to his parent club later in 2020 with uncertainty over his future.
Although the Catalan giants are keen to cash in on the Brazil international, it is unclear whether they will be able to negotiate a suitable deal with another club.
However, according to Le 10 Sport, Arsenal are looking to find a positive resolution for all parties ahead of the next transfer window.
The report claims that at least one high-ranked figure behind the scenes will hold talks with Coutinho's representative Kia Joorabchian.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle United have also been linked with a bid for the 27-year-old.
