Arsenal have reportedly joined the chase to sign Crewe Alexandra attacker Nick Powell.
The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, while Chelsea are also thought to be monitoring the England Under-18 international.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has now been given the all-clear to make an approach for the player, according to The Mirror.
Powell scored a stunning goal as Crewe beat Cheltenham Town in the League Two play-off final last month.
