Arsenal are reportedly lining up a move for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.
The Gunners were looking at the United centre-back during the summer, but opted against making a formal offer.
However, Arsene Wenger is ready to make his move when the transfer window re-opens in January, according to Goal.com.
Arsenal would have no problem matching Smalling's current salary at Old Trafford, and Wenger is said to be attracted to the versatility that the 24-year-old brings to the team.
