Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly carrying out checks to assess the possibility of signing Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona when the transfer window reopens.
The 22-year-old's future at Camp Nou has come into question following another injury-plagued campaign, with the Frenchman having made only five La Liga appearances all season.
In all, Dembele has been limited to only 74 outings since joining Barcelona in a £112.5m deal from Borussia Dortmund three seasons ago, leading the Catalan giants to consider cutting their losses.
Spanish outlet Sport reports that both Arsenal and Manchester United are considering moves for the winger, but that they want to carry out checks before firming up their interest.
The report claims that the Premier League duo want to get to the bottom of Dembele's recent injury woes, with particular concern over the number of muscle injuries he has suffered.
Arsenal and United are also looking to find out more about Dembele's personality following a number of reported off-field issues during his time at Barcelona.
The former Dortmund man has scored 19 goals and provided 17 assists in his 74 Barcelona games.
