Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on signing Michael Carrick from Premier League rivals Manchester United this summer if the midfielder decides against extending his stay at Old Trafford.
Carrick, 34, is yet to agree a new contract with the Red Devils and several clubs, including the midfielder's hometown side Newcastle United, are said to be planning summer moves to sign him on a free transfer.
According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger has tried to sign Carrick on three previous occasions and will again go for the England international at the end of the season.
Carrick has made 25 appearances in all competitions for United this season.
