Arsenal have reportedly made it clear that they are prepared to spend as much as £50m on Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White during this summer's transfer window.

The 23-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for the Seagulls and was rewarded with a spot in the England squad for this summer's European Championship.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in the defender, who still has three years left to run on his contract with Graham Potter's side.

However, a recent report claimed that Arsenal were also firmly in the race, and according to The Athletic, the Gunners are now preparing a bid for his services.

The report claims that the North London club could potentially do a deal at £40m, but Mikel Arteta's side would be willing to go as high as £50m due to their interest in the defender.

White starred for Leeds United on loan during the 2019-20 Championship season before returning to the Amex to step into the first team. body check tags ::
