Manchester United academy midfielder Angel Gomes has emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona, according to reports.
The 16-year-old is one of the most highly-rated young players at Carrington and gained national media attention after coming off the bench to score a hat-trick against Everton's academy side in September.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Spanish giants have dispatched scouts to keep an eye on Gomes, who has been on United's books since May 2014 after impressing on trial with the Under-17s aged just 13.
Gomes was the captain of the England Under-17 side which thrashed Germany 8-1 earlier in October.
