Barcelona president Joan Laporta has suggested that his side are firmly in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland during this summer's transfer window.
There is expected to be a £63m release clause in Haaland's contract this summer, and a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be in the running for his signature.
Barcelona's financial issues had seemingly ruled them out of the race, but Laporta said that "everything is possible" when asked whether his side could move for Haaland at the end of the campaign.
"We're working to build a top team. Everything is possible if we do things well. And I'm sure we will. Top players are open to join Barca. We're definitely recovering our status", Laporta told reporters.
Haaland has again been in impressive form for BVB during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 19 times and contributing five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
Barcelona have already signed Ferran Torres from Manchester City this month, while they are allegedly closing in on a deal for Atletico Madrid's Alvaro Morata. body check tags ::
