Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly both keen to sign Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood during next summer's transfer window.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Getafe, and he has excelled with the capital outfit, scoring five goals and registering four assists in 15 appearances in all competitions.
As it stands, Greenwood will return to Man United next summer, but he has been told that he has no future at the club, which is set to lead to a permanent sale.
Getafe have expressed an interest in signing the Red Devils academy product on a permanent basis, while Valencia and Real Sociedad are said to be among a number of Spanish clubs keeping an eye on his situation.
According to talkSPORT, there is also interest from the two giants of Spanish football in the shape of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the two sides potentially going head-to-head for his signature.
The report claims that Man United currently have no plans to bring Greenwood back into their first team despite recent suggestions that there could be a route for him back into the squad.
Greenwood, who has a contract with the 20-time English champions until June 2025, scored 35 goals and registered 12 assists in 129 appearances for his parent club before being arrested in January 2022.
Following accusations from a woman, the forward was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
Greenwood was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but there is no longer a case against him.
Man United are believed to have initially decided to bring him back into the first team over the summer but were forced to change their minds due to the opposition that arrived.
Greenwood scored 17 times for the Red Devils during the 2019-20 campaign, and he was regarded as one of the best young forwards in world football before his arrest.
The attacker, who made his debut for England in September 2020, also managed six goals in the first half of the 2021-22 season before he was suspended by the club.
Greenwood has three goals and four assists in 14 La Liga appearances this season, with his form helping Getafe sit in eighth position in Spain's top flight.
There have also been claims that Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the situation, but a move to another English outfit is seen as almost impossible. body check tags ::
