Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane could reportedly reunite with French compatriot Karim Benzema at Paris Saint-Germain next summer.
The Ligue 1 giants are believed to be preparing for life without Kylian Mbappe and manager Mauricio Pochettino, who have been heavily linked with moves away from the Parc des Princes.
With Didier Deschamps set to remain in charge of the French national team, Zidane is now believed to be a strong candidate to take over from Pochettino either next summer or in the summer of 2023, with the Argentine being lined up by Manchester United to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
According to Le10Sport.com, via Fichajes, PSG have identified Benzema as a direct replacement for Mbappe, who is out of contract in June 2022.
The report adds that the 34-year-old's arrival in Paris would be 'key' in their pursuit of Zidane, who is understood to be keen to work with the striker once again, as well as defender Sergio Ramos who moved to the French capital from Real Madrid this summer.
Benzema was one of Zidane's star performers during his spell in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, which saw the pair win three Champions League titles.
The experienced striker has scored 297 goals in 581 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions, including 18 strikes in 22 matches this season. body check tags ::
