Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has begun his medical at Fulham, manager Martin Jol has confirmed.
Berbatov had been expected to join Fiorentina yesterday, but never arrived in Florence ahead of his prospective medical, causing the club to claim that the Bulgarian did not deserve to wear their shirt.
Juventus then emerged as the most likely destination for Berbatov before Fulham entered the race and snatched him from under both Italian sides' noses.
There was another twist in the saga this morning as Sky Bet suspended betting on the striker joining West Ham United.
However, it now appears as if Craven Cottage will be Berbatov's destination this summer, and he is expected to complete a £4m move within the next 24 hours.
