Brandon Williams is reportedly prepared to leave Manchester United on loan before the end of the month.

The 22-year-old has only played once for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, with his outing coming as a late substitute against Burnley in the EFL Cup fourth round on December 21.

Williams has not made the squad for Man United's last four Premier League matches, though, and he is down the pecking order when it comes to the full-back positions at Old Trafford.

The defender represented Norwich City on loan last season, making 29 appearances for the club, including 26 in the Premier League, as the Canaries were relegated to the Championship.

An injury prevented Williams from featuring for Man United in the early part of this campaign, but he has now been fit for over a month and continues to be overlooked.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Williams is open to leaving the 20-time English champions on loan before the January window closes for business.

The report claims that the defender is determined to secure regular football in the second half of the campaign, as he looks to get back on track following a period on the sidelines.

Earlier this month, Williams said that he was determined to secure regular action at Man United this term, but Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both ahead of him at left-back, while he is behind Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in terms of the right-back spot.

"It was tough (the winter training camp). It was something I needed as well, obviously being out with a long injury and coming back, it was difficult to probably get some concentrated training," Williams recently told Man United's official matchday programme.

"But, with the World Cup being on, I got a kind of mini pre-season and it helped me as well. Walking back out on the pitch in a United shirt is something that I love to do and want to do many more times.

"I just love playing every single time, the feeling doesn't go from my first appearance to that one (Burnley match). There's no difference. It's an honour to be out there and, like I've said, I just want to make many more appearances.

"Even being on the bench, just waiting for that opportunity. When I do get an opportunity, I will take it. I'll show the manager what I am capable of.

"It's been a hard couple of months because I've been taking in so much information and learning the manager's gameplan and the way he does things. I really enjoy that and enjoy learning it and I feel really positive."

Williams has made 51 appearances for Man United, scoring once and providing three assists, and he still has another 18 months left to run on his deal with the Red Devils, including the option of a further year.
