Carlos Carvalhal has poured cold water on reports suggesting that Manchester United are interested in Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils sent a scout to watch the 24-year-old in the Swans' 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
Carvalhal, who is close friends with United boss Jose Mourinho, rubbished the rumours, claiming that he would know if there had been any contact from Old Trafford.
"I'm not [aware of any interest]. As you know I have a relationship with Mourinho and Mourinho never talked with me about that," the Portuguese told BBC Sport.
"If Manchester United are interested in him, or City, or Chelsea, or Liverpool, to me it is not a surprise because he is a very, very good player.
"But I look to this in a positive way not negative, I am very happy about that, if the big, big clubs are interested in our players... of course I am happy about that, I'm not worried, I am very happy."
Mawson has made 32 Premier League appearances for Swansea this term, scoring two goals.
