Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte.
The 23-year-old is currently on international duty at the Copa America with Uruguay in the United States, where the midfielder will be hoping to help his country to pan-American glory.
Ugarte is a key fixture for Marcelo Bielsa's troops and started their opening group game of this summer's tournament, a comfortable 3-1 success over Panama.
Since making his international debut for Uruguay at the beginning of the 2021, the PSG man has earned 16 caps but has failed to find the back of the net just yet.
That should not be seen as a negative, though, as Ugarte's game is primarily focused on pressing, being aggressive and breaking up opposition attacks in the midfield.
Man United keen on PSG star Ugarte?
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United are looking to significantly bolster their engine-room ranks ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, in which they will play Europa League football.
The report states that the Red Devils have registered an interest in PSG midfielder Ugarte, who could be in line for a swift exit from the French capital.
Ugarte only arrived at Parc des Princes last summer, after securing a high-profile switch from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
It is understood that Les Parisiens fought off competition from Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea to successfully seal the signature of the 16-time international.
After forking out a hefty £52m for Ugarte just 12 months ago, PSG will be looking to recoup as much as possible from a potential sale to Man United this summer.
Juventus, AC Milan 'possible destinations for Ugarte'
As well as Man United, there are also a pair of Italian giants who could be in the race to end Ugarte's stay at PSG after just a single season.
L'Equipe reported last month that the 30-year-old had been offered to both AC Milan and Juventus, with the duo on the lookout for midfield reinforcements.
The same can be said for Erik ten Hag's side, with the Red Devils potentially losing a senior figure in their engine room ahead of the new term.
Heading towards the end of his trophy-laden career, Casemiro is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League and could desire a lucrative contract in the Middle East before eventually hanging up his boots.
