Chelsea are confident of beating Manchester United to the signature of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly becoming increasingly confident in the race to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during this summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form at club level during the 2021-22 campaign, contributing two goals in 29 appearances, while he has also developed into a key player for France since making his debut last September.

Monaco are expected to struggle to keep hold of the midfielder this summer due to the growing interest in his services, with a number of clubs said to be interested in a deal.

A recent report claimed that Manchester United were preparing to battle Chelsea for the Frenchman's signature ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

However, according to Sports Illustrated, the Blues are 'optimistic' that they will be able to bring him to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Tchouameni, who has also been linked with Liverpool, still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with his Ligue 1 outfit. body check tags ::
