Chelsea are reportedly ready to make an approach for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
Despite having a long-term contract at the London Stadium, Rice has continually been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are also interested in securing a deal for the England international during the next transfer window.
While the Hammers will not want to sell the 21-year-old, especially to a city rival, there is an acceptance that the academy graduate will eventually move to a bigger club.
Providing that they can meet West Ham's valuation, Chelsea's hopes are further boosted by Rice being a close friend of Mason Mount.
Rice has made a total of 101 appearances for his current team in all competitions.
