Chelsea are reportedly weighing up an approach for Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
The 23-year-old has been a key component of the Yellow Submarine's defence this term, making 29 La Liga appearances as Villarreal lie fifth in the table.
Torres still has four years left to run on his Villarreal contract, but his performances in the Spanish top flight this term have supposedly garnered the interest of several top European sides.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have joined the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona in the race to secure Torres's signature.
The report states that Torres possesses a £45m release clause in his current Villarreal contract, although the Yellow Submarine would likely have to lower their demands ahead of a transfer window set to be heavily impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Frank Lampard's Chelsea have already added Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to the ranks at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
