Chelsea are reportedly determined to bring Real Madrid's Raphael Varane to Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window.

The centre-back's current deal with Los Blancos is due to expire next summer, and it is widely thought that he will complete a move away from the Bernabeu after representing France at Euro 2020.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain continue to be strongly linked with the World Cup winner, who is thought to be valued by Real Madrid in the region of €70m (£60.2m).

A recent report claimed that Man United had already offered Varane a lucrative five-year contract to make the move to Old Trafford this summer.

However, according to Foot Mercato, Chelsea are firmly in the hunt for the Frenchman, having identified him as a 'priority' target ahead of next season.

The 28-year-old was again an important player for Real Madrid during the 2020-21 campaign, making 41 appearances in all competitions.

Varane has won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and four Champions League crowns since arriving at the Bernabeu from Lens in 2011. body check tags ::
