Chelsea have reportedly enquired over the availability of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The 26-year-old struggled to become a consistent part of Diego Simeone's plans last term, but he nevertheless made 33 La Liga appearances as Atletico stormed to the top-flight title.
However, Saul - whose contract does not expire until 2026 - started just 22 of those games and only registered two goals and one assist, meaning that Atletico are supposedly open to his departure this summer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have submitted an enquiry over the Spaniard's availability, but the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked as well.
Romano adds that Atletico already have a replacement lined up in the form of Udinese's Rodrigo de Paul, whose €35m (£30m) arrival will be confirmed after the Copa America.
Saul boasts 43 goals and 19 assists from 337 appearances in an Atletico shirt, and he has spent the last 13 years at the Wanda Metropolitano after leaving Real Madrid's academy.
