Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a potential move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, with Robert Sanchez set for a spell on the sidelines.
The Spaniard, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, was forced off in last weekend's defeat to Everton with a knee injury.
Sanchez initially picked up the problem in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United, and he subsequently aggravated the issue against the Toffees.
With Sanchez now set to be out of action for at least a few weeks, Mauricio Pochettino will have to turn to Djordje Petrovic for Chelsea's upcoming fixtures.
While the Chelsea boss has backed the former New England Revolution goalkeeper to succeed, he is still unproven at the highest level.
According to talkSPORT, Sanchez's injury could persuade Chelsea to pursue a deal for Arsenal's Ramsdale in the January window.
The England international has been linked with a winter departure after losing his place in the side to David Raya this season.
Ramsdale started the opening four games of the Premier League campaign, before Mikel Arteta opted to replace him with the Spanish shot-stopper.
Since being dropped in September, Ramsdale has featured in just four competitive matches, with only one of those appearances taking place in the Premier League.
With Ramsdale keen to make the England squad for Euro 2024, there has been speculation suggesting that he could look for a move away in a bid to gain regular playing time.
In addition to Chelsea, the former Sheffield United man is also attracting interest from Newcastle United, who are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper following a serious injury to Nick Pope.
Although Ramsdale is not short of admirers, Arteta recently reiterated his stance that Arsenal will not allow the Englishman to depart in the January window.
Ramsdale, who has a contract until at least June 2026, has kept 32 clean sheets in 87 appearances during his time with the Gunners.
