Manchester United are reportedly preparing to battle Manchester City for the signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves in this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old starred for title-winning Wolves in the Championship last season following a £15.8m move from Porto, while he has also impressed in the Premier League this season.
City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be a long-term admirer of the midfielder, but according to The Express, United are also keen to sign the Portuguese ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.
However, the same report has claimed that the Red Devils are not prepared to pay the £100m which Wolves are said to be demanding for a player who has three Premier League goals to his name this season.
Neves, who is contracted to Wolves until the summer of 2023, is represented by well-known agent Jorge Mendes.
