Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is reportedly eager to join Everton.
It is believed that the England international has been told by United manager Louis van Gaal that he is free to find himself a new club before tonight's 11pm deadline.
Aston Villa are known to be interested in the 25-year-old, but speculation earlier today suggested that a potential switch to Villa Park had stalled because of Cleverley's wage demands.
However, despite those talks with Villa, Cleverley would prefer to move to Goodison Park, either on loan or on a permanent basis, according to the Daily Mail.
A switch to Everton would see Cleverley reunited with Roberto Martinez, who signed the midfielder on loan during his stint in charge of Wigan Athletic.
