Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he had "concrete offers" to leave the Red Devils this summer before signing a new contract.
On Wednesday, the 20-time English champions announced that Fernandes had penned a fresh deal at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option of a further 12 months.
The Portugal international's future had been the subject of much speculation earlier this summer, with a number of major clubs in Europe, and teams in Saudi Arabia, said to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
The 29-year-old has said that he had "concrete offers" to depart the Red Devils this summer, but he was convinced to remain in Manchester.
"This vote of confidence from the club was very important for me. Even because I was approached [by other clubs], the club was aware that there was a possibility of me leaving, I had concrete offers," Fernandes told ESPN Brasil.
Fernandes opens up on summer transfer interest
"But the club showed that it needed me, that it was at a time of change and that they wanted to do things differently.
"I believe there is a dream future at this club with the changes that are taking place. That's why I chose to stay.
"There were other directions that would have been interesting for me, other expectations. But I feel good here, I feel loved and I feel that the club has been very respectful of me."
Fernandes arrived at Man United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, and he has scored 79 goals and registered 67 assists in 234 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Which players could join Fernandes at Man United this summer?
Man United have already made four signings during this summer's transfer window, with Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui joining the club.
Erik ten Hag's side have also allegedly made a breakthrough in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Manuel Ugarte.
Meanwhile, the club are believed to have submitted an offer for Fenerbahce's Ferdi Kadioglu in response to Luke Shaw's latest injury setback.
There have also been claims that a new attacker could arrive before the end of the transfer window, although there would have to be a key departure for that to occur, with Jadon Sancho being heavily linked with PSG.
