Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils made five new additions during the summer transfer window, including the signings of two Bayern defenders.
They recruited right-back Noussair Mazraoui and centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, who both previously played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.
After engaging in productive negotiations with Bayern in the summer, Man United could make an attempt to sign another player from the German club when the transfer market reopens in the new year.
Man United considering Coman move
According to Caught Offside, via Manchester Evening News, Man United are willing to make an effort to sign Coman in January as long as conditions are met.
The first requirement is that the Frenchman must prove that he can stay injury-free until the transfer window opens in 2025.
Furthermore, the other condition is that Coman needs to be open to a Premier League move after spending the last nine years playing in Germany.
Prior to his move to Bayern, the winger represented French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Italian heavyweights Juventus.
Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with Coman, while Arsenal were credited with an interest before they signed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
Coman's injury woes
Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal were another side that were keen to sign Coman in the recent transfer market, but he ultimately stayed put at Bayern where he is under contract until June 2027.
Coman will now look to prove that he can remain fit for a consistent period after experiencing an injury-hit 2023-24 campaign.
The 28-year-old had to contend with various injury issues last season and was restricted to just 17 Bundesliga appearances.
Even if he can stay fit, Coman may struggle to enjoy regular game time, having failed to start any of the first three matches of Vincent Kompany's tenure.
The France international appears to be behind Serge Gnabry, Mathys Tel, Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise in the pecking order at the Allianz Arena.
