Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford is reportedly on the radar of another European giant as speculation over his Old Trafford future continues to rage.

The 26-year-old has not been able to regain his 2022-23 form in the past year-and-a-half under Erik ten Hag, who made a concerted effort to keep him at the club when he arrived from Ajax.

From eight Premier League appearances in the 2024-25 season, Rashford has only managed one goal and one assist, setting up Alejandro Garnacho's strike in last weekend's 2-1 win over Brentford.

Back in the summer of 2023, the England international committed to a new long-term contract at the Theatre of Dreams, and his current terms are not due to run out until the summer of 2028.

However, Paris Saint-Germain have long been linked with a move for the Red Devils academy graduate, and a recent report claimed that Bayern Munich had joined the race for his services too.

Marseille 'enter race' to sign Rashford

Now, TEAMTalk reports that Ligue 1 powerhouses Marseille - now managed by ex-Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi - have thrown their hat into the ring for Rashford's signature too.

Les Olympiens have already poached one attacker from Old Trafford this year, signing Mason Greenwood from Ten Hag's side after he was informed that he had no future at the club.

Greenwood has quickly adapted to life in Ligue 1, coming up with six goals and two assists in eight appearances, but there are fears that Marseille may not have the financial muscle to pull off a deal.

Money would not be a problem for Bayern or PSG in their efforts to sign Rashford, who now has 135 goals and 72 assists under his belt from 415 matches in a Man United jersey.

The 26-year-old has lost his place in the England squad amid his indifferent form at Old Trafford, though, with his last call-up for his country coming all the way back in March.

Could Rashford realistically leave Man Utd in January?

As underwhelming as Rashford has been by his standards over the past couple of seasons, Man United are supposedly set to put up a serious fight to keep the 26-year-old at the club.

The Red Devils academy product fills an important home-grown role within Ten Hag's squad, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is optimistic that the club's 'poster boy' will soon rediscover his clinical touch.

As a result, it would take a significant sum of money for Man United to consider letting the forward leave in two months' time, but the door is not fully closed on a January exit.

However, Rashford would supposedly have to engineer an exit himself if he is to end his long-running association with the Red Devils, who supposedly also want to extend his contract.

The Englishman played 73 minutes of Thursday's 1-1 Europa League draw with Fenerbahce and is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup for Sunday's Premier League clash with West Ham United. body check tags ::
