Barcelona have named Frenkie de Jong in the squad for their pre-season tour of the United States despite the ongoing speculation surrounding the midfielder's future.
The Catalan outfit have allegedly come to an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of the Netherlands international, with the deal said to be worth €75m (£63.5m) plus add-ons.
However, the Red Devils are yet to agree personal terms with the 25-year-old, who is still determined to remain with Barcelona despite the La Liga club's desire to sell him.
"I prefer to stay with Barcelona. Barcelona is just my dream club. Also from a young age. I just said it too. I've never regretted my choice despite the fact that I had hoped for more in terms of prizes than I've achieved so far. But I have never regretted my choice," the midfielder told ESPN earlier this summer.
"You are always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player," De Jong also told reporters in June. "But I think I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment and feel fine there so there is no news."
There had been suggestions that Barcelona would leave the Dutchman out of their pre-season squad, as they wanted to make it clear that he was not in their plans for the new campaign.
However, De Jong is in the travelling party for the games against Inter Miami, Real Madrid, Juventus and New York Red Bulls, with his future taking another twist.
Last season, the midfielder made 46 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals and five assists in the process, with the club regarding him as a key player.
Meanwhile, he has represented Barcelona on 138 occasions since arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2016, contributing 13 goals and 17 assists in the process.
De Jong still has another four years left to run on his deal at Camp Nou, but Barcelona need to make a big sale this summer, as they close in on a deal for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
The overall package is said to be worth in the region of €85m (£72m) to Barcelona, which would ease their financial issues and allow them to register their new signings.
Raphinha has also been named in the squad following his recent arrival from Leeds United, while fellow new signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie have also been included.
Ousmane Dembele, who rejoined the club last week, is also present, in addition to Memphis Depay, who has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer.
There are some notable absentees, though, with Martin Braithwaite, Oscar Mingueza, Samuel Umtiti, Riqui Puig and Neto all left out, as Barcelona attempt to move them on this summer.
Xavi's side, who finished second behind Real Madrid in La Liga last season, will open their pre-season campaign against Inter Miami on Tuesday evening. body check tags ::
