Advisors to Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt are reportedly keen for the teenager to snub Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in favour of a move to Manchester United this summer.
The 19-year-old's future remains unclear, although it had been thought that Barca and PSG were locked in a head-to-head battle for his signature ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
However, according to Spanish journalist Oriol Domenech, speaking on Cataluyna Radio, those closest to De Ligt have told the Netherlands international to join United before switching to Barca at a later date.
There are concerns whether De Ligt would be a starter at Camp Nou next season due to the presence of Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti.
The teenager would more than likely go straight into the United XI, though, and his advisors have reportedly told him to move to Old Trafford this summer before joining Barca in around three years.
PSG, however, are still said to lead the race for the centre-back, who captained Ajax to a league and cup double during the 2018-19 campaign.
