Memphis Depay reportedly rejected a big-money package from Paris Saint-Germain in order to join Manchester United.
The PSV Eindhoven winger agreed a deal, thought to be in the region of £22m, with the Premier League giants on Thursday.
PSG and Liverpool were thought to also be interested in the 21-year-old Dutchman, but the player opted to team up with his "dream club" at Old Trafford.
According to Dutch media outlet AD.nl, Depay turned down the opportunity of a higher salary at the Parc des Princes, such was his desire to move to the Premier League.
The report also claims that PSV technical director Marcel Brands expected Depay to choose the Ligue 1 giants, but United made a late swoop.
