Angel di Maria has reportedly advised Manchester United to move for Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan in the January transfer window.
Di Maria, who joined United from Real Madrid in the summer, played alongside Gaitan at Benfica and the pair are also Argentine teammates.
According to The Express, Di Maria has thrown his weight behind United's reported pursuit of the 26-year-old, who is said to have a £30m buy-out clause in his current contract.
Valencia have also been strongly linked with the versatile midfielder, who joined Benfica from Boca Juniors in 2010.
United are expected to be active in the January transfer window.
