Diogo Dalot is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United over a new long-term deal.
The 23-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his contract at Old Trafford, and there has recently been speculation surrounding his future, with Barcelona and Real Madrid said to be admirers.
However, according to The Sun, the Portugal international is now in advanced discussions with the 20-time English champions over a new long-term deal at the club.
The report claims that the contract will see Dalot sign for 'several more years', as Man United are wary of the growing interest in the defender, with a number of Italian clubs also thought to be keen on his signature following a successful loan spell at AC Milan in 2020-21.
Dalot has been Man United's first-choice right-back since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure as head coach in November 2021, and he has featured on 30 occasions in all competitions this term.
The Portuguese has struggled with fitness problems since the 2022 World Cup, though, which has allowed Aaron Wan-Bissaka to also enjoy plenty of football.
Despite Wan-Bissaka's form, the England international's future remains unclear, and there have been claims that he could leave this summer, with a new right-back arriving to provide competition for Dalot.
The former Porto youngster played the full 90 minutes of Sunday's 7-0 loss at Liverpool in the Premier League and will be bidding to keep hold of his spot against Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday.
Addressing his future earlier this year, Dalot told reporters: "We are in a position to say that we are negotiating and seeing how both parties will benefit. But it is no secret that I am happy to be here, so we will see how things go.
"I love this club and I love to play for this club. Progressively we are in a good direction as a team.
"For me, this is the most important part and hopefully individually I can continue to help the team as I am doing."
A recent report claimed that Dalot's new deal could be worth in the region of £85,000 a week plus bonuses, which would triple his current salary at the club.
