Espanyol have reportedly submitted an offer for Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
Following a dispute with United manager Louis van Gaal during the summer, 33-year-old Valdes has trained alone at the club's Carrington base.
It is widely expected that the former Barcelona stopper will depart Old Trafford during the upcoming January transfer window, with Newcastle United thought to be keen.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Magpies could face competition for his signature from Barcelona-based Espanyol.
Valdes has made just two appearances for the Red Devils following his arrival earlier this year.
