Everton will reportedly turn down any offer from Manchester United for right-back Seamus Coleman this summer.
United are believed to have turned their attentions to the Republic of Ireland international, having failed with a bid for Dani Alves.
However, the Liverpool Echo claims that the Toffees are ready to rebuff any interest from the Red Devils for the 26-year-old.
Louis van Gaal is said to view Coleman as an ideal candidate to bolster his options, but the Everton board are happy to back manager Roberto Martinez and keep the player at Goodison Park.
According to the Manchester Evening News, however, Van Gaal could instead turn to Guillermo Varela, offering the Uruguayan defender the chance to prove himself during the club's tour of North America.
