Everton have reportedly turned down a bid from Manchester United for full-back Leighton Baines.
Reports emerged this afternoon claiming that the Premier League champions had tabled a £12m offer for the England international, who is thought to have been a long-term target for the Red Devils.
Following the bid, it is understood that the Merseyside outfit have rebuffed United's advances and have insisted that Baines is not for sale, according to Sky Sports News.
Reports that Baines could make the move to Old Trafford intensified following David Moyes's switch from Goodison Park to the North-West outfit after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
