Everton to rival Manchester United for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly?

:Headline: Everton to rival Manchester United for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly?:
Everton are reportedly ready to do battle with Manchester United and Manchester City for the signature of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen to reunite with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly at Goodison Park this summer.

The duo worked together while Ancelotti was in control of the reins at the Partenopei, and Koulibaly continues to be heavily linked with a move to a top Premier League club.

Manchester United and Manchester City were both expected to pursue a deal last year, but Napoli's £89m valuation put them off, although the Serie A giants will likely be forced to accept a much lower figure this summer given his age and the financial situation.

According to Football Insider, Ancelotti is determined to strike a deal for a top centre-back ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, and Koulibaly is his priority target.

The report adds that Ancelotti's desire for Koulibaly is down to his belief that Everton's current centre-backs are not able to work together effectively, with the Toffees manager often rotating between Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey this term.

Koulibaly has made 31 appearances across all competitions for Gennaro Gattuso's side this term, and his contract is up in the summer of 2023.
