Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.
Ferdinand will be out of contract at the end of the current campaign and has been widely tipped with a move away from Old Trafford having only started 10 matches in the Premier League this season.
However, the 35-year-old has ruled out retiring from the game and admitted that he would prefer to stay with United, who are expected to name their permanent replacement for David Moyes in the summer.
"I'm going to continue playing. Whether it's here, I don't know, but I hope so," Ferdinand is quoted as saying by PA.
Ferdinand has been at Old Trafford for 12 years having joined from Leeds United in 2002.
