Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected suggestions that the club are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
Lampard is believed to have been targeted by the former Premier League champions after it had emerged that the 34-year-old will leave the Blues at the end of the season.
United have also been heavily linked with an approach for Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha but Ferguson has suggested that there is no foundation in the reports.
"It's January for goodness sake," Ferguson said in a press conference, according to BBC Sport. "There's no story."
Meanwhile, the Scottish boss has confirmed that striker Wayne Rooney is definitely out of this Sunday's Premier League clash against Liverpool.
