Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reportedly informed his teammates that he expects to leave the club this summer.
The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with Manchester United in recent weeks and his agent is believed to be instigating a move away.
United are running out of time to complete a deal, with the transfer window closing for English teams in just over a week, but Portuguese publication A Bola suggests that talks between the sides are gathering pace.
Fernandes is said to have told his pals in the Sporting dressing room that a deal is on course to go through in the next week.
Sporting are continuing to use the Portugal international in friendly matches, however, and he is expected to feature against Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup on Sunday.
